To have and to hold
Many blessings we're offered
Proves eternal love
haiku by #llifeinsyllables
During this week of thanks, I put my focus solely on gratitude. Gratitude for the many blessings I have in my life as well as giving gratitude towards others. I have also realized that showing gratitude for myself helps me give more to others. In giving thanks, I'm already giving love.
In this current time, when gratitude and love seem distant and sparse, it's more important than ever to put our gratitude first. People are hurting, people are dying, people are angry and confused, people are lying and cheating, people are lost and searching, people are ignored and shamed - there is so much act from hate. We are running on empty. It is consuming our minds and our beings.
But I have news for you. Hate runs out. It is never fulfilling because it thrives on more hate and more hurt. It is never enough and is always reaching for more, which is why it gets worse and worse. But it is out of fear. Fear for losing the search for more, more, more, when everything you already have hate is looking for...
Love - love can be maximized by one small dose. Like giving thanks. The beauty of thankfulness lies directly within us. We can always find another reason to show gratitude be it big or small. And it will always respond with love and that will always keep us going because love never runs out. Love is contagious and undeniable, it is forgiving and kind, it is everlasting and always wins. Love blossoms even from the smallest seed because it thrives on hope and is rooted in truth.
So I encourage you not only during this week of Thanksgiving, but in each day and in each moment to find gratitude. Give thanks outwardly and inwardly...write it, speak it, and most importantly show it. And know that however you give thanks, you are serving yourself and the greater good because without question you will always find love.
I am thankful for the opportunity to write these words. I am thankful for my ever loving and supporting family. I am grateful for the many gracious, giving and loyal friendships I have been blessed with. I show gratitude towards those who are fighting with love for the good in this country and in humanity. I show gratitude towards the many blessings I am given each and every day. I show gratitude for the inspirations and discoveries that knock on my door so that I can continue to create and share. I am thankful for the overall love I have in my life. I am thankful for you, wonderful reader.
