Gold you behold
This poem was inspired by the writing prompt from @in-q during a live poetry workshop on instagram. It was a 15minute exercise - and this is what came out. What's interesting is, I wasn't really a fan of this one. but that very last line has been an inspiration for 'hey you, Stay golden' and so much more. i hope you Enjoy!
beads of sweat swim to my bosom
the sun - such a foreign blessing in this modern age
i hide away
afraid of the burn
resistant of the energy.
Master Sun displays integrity.
a promise i don’t even have to acknowledge
it shines on
day after day
it’s reflection beams through the glass
crystallizing clarity [truth] on to my paper
it shines truth onto me
i see the sun as influence
knowing the power i hold
guilty of too often sneaking behind the clouds.
instead of walking into that connective synergy
i deflect the essence yearning for reflect
instead of embracing the heat
i steer clear from the burn
rather than seeking the light within
i allow myself to be blinded by the pure brilliance
[leading the way]
i can feel the gravitational pull.
one that is beyond encouraging.
it brings me to tears.
“Come, my dear.”
I can hear him speak right to my soul.
“You are my creation. There is nothing you can not do.”
One. Step. Closer.
“No need to cover up anymore! I will protect you!
Let us saturate in this bliss together!
I am you and you are me.
I do not shine unless you shine
For you are my purpose.
And you bring me life.”
I walk into the light.
A new paradigm awaits, in reach.
"All can feel you radiate.
Gift yourself the belief of the gold you behold.”
