"keeping quiet" by pablo nerda is one of my all-time favorite poems. I read it during the very beginnings of quarantine, and it was exactly what I needed to hear - what we all needed to hear. And I riffed on it...I discovered I continue to seek and find the stillness, six months later. We can still move forward while being still. In fact, it may be the most productive and only way; clearer, more conscious, more careful, more compassionate. Cheers to you, our stillness together, our healing, and all that is to come.
------- what if we can be ok with the quiet. the stillness of it all, together. we can still connect we can still love we can still create we can still learn we can still begin to understand individuality together it’s weird all of it sometimes this feels like some surreal global experiment to me. but it’s not about separation it’s not about fear it’s not about each person for themselves if you think about it, we’re already in this “sudden strangeness” together and it’s a continual choice to do and be so be wise. be faithful. be active. even when it means ‘be still’ i think there’s something to be found in the quiet; to interrupt this chaos and confusion and to come out on the other side stronger than before i choose to have faith in the stillness - and to lead with the love found.
