What is it about a shooting star?

12/6/2017

what is it about a shooting star?

always arrives right on time but never gives fair warning
miss it and you'll never know it existed

something so quick that can give such fulfillment, such sensation and desire and satisfaction.

Makes me think...
how something so quick, something like a moments notice can create such a brilliant experience
something so distant yet...knows me so intimately. so perfectly.
and it's always right on time.
oh, how it reminds me of the miraculous things that happen at a moments notice, every day.

the breath of air that my body takes
the blood streams flowing to my veins
the tune heard in one ear, my brain processes it and then it leaves out the other

what is it?

how it eludes me into such fantasy, such master and wonder

how it provides me with hope
shows off alignment.
without place. without time.
just space.

it has purpose
it has intention

and it is not random.
for nothing is at random when it's a miraculous as a creation like you

something like a shooting star, for thousands of years, generations on end, time after time
these flying stars fall
how many of you saw this one?
i believe it was solely for me.

the shooting star hasn't changed with time
it's just that more people have been able to experience it

something so silent yet so bright
something that doesn't need to stick around for a long time at all
something that spends its time so wisely, does it's part and then vanishes into the night sky.
knowing it has made its profound mark

poof

maybe its something we all can relate to
maybe it's something we can all aspire to be

it listens, though
it listens to the ones that need to see it when the time is right
it listens to those who need see that glimmer of hope. to make that wish. to reflect.
to question the great wonders of the world

what is it about a shooting star?
something so familiar yet has a distant and distinct -
a 'not so sure yet what that message means' sort of meaning every time it shows up again.
it's like it's been seen for the first time every time.

if only our eyes can see the world that way.
